Is it safe to collect my own sample?
Only if you follow the safe steps on our sample form: wear a P2 mask and disposable coveralls, lightly dampen the material, take a small piece (about 30mm) from an edge or crack without sanding or breaking it, seal any cut edge, then double-bag and label it. If you're unsure, don't disturb it — book an inspection instead and we'll sample it for you.
How fast will I get my result?
Fast — we test on-site using the microPHAZIR analyzer rather than sending samples away, so results are emailed to you shortly after your sample reaches us. Call 1300 019 657 for the current turnaround. (Confirm exact figure before launch.)

Should I get a sample or a full inspection?
A postal sample answers one question about one material. If you're buying, selling or renovating, a full property inspection is the safer choice — it checks the entire property.
I'm buying an old house — could it contain asbestos?
Very likely if it was built or renovated before the late 1980s — asbestos was used widely in Australian construction until then. Australia banned all forms of asbestos at the end of 2003, so assume anything older could contain it until testing confirms otherwise. Testing a suspect material before you commit is cheap insurance against an expensive surprise.
